i bought this one while shopping for the extension ladder (got that too). both are very well built and look like they should last a homeowner's lifetime and should stand up to commercial use pretty well. they are both heavy, but the step ladder is very heavy. that said, it is great to get into and out of tight areas without smashing your walls.

This aluminum ladder is very solid and stable. I am rating it 4 stars instead of 5 because the directions about extending and collapsing the ladder are not clear. If you are mechanically inclined, you will probably be able to figure everything out easily. I'm going to have to give it a lot of practice.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as described but works after I get over the fear., November 29, 2011

The description said it was a extension ladder as well as the A-frame. It's not. Noticed it does not say extension any longer in the description. I was a bit scared to stand on the top treads after you see how it's raised. It has very thick rails and should give me faith. It has a bit of wobble at the same time feels steady with the wide foot base, hard to explain. It makes me light on my feet until I got used to it. Feels like I was waiting for it to drop a step because it was not all the way locked. Never fell, well not yet, lol. It heavy when moving it around. I use it for residential in my home so not sure how much of a beating it will take. Overall it's a good ladder that does not take up tons of space in the garage. It's on the expensive side for an A frame ladder.
