Look high and low, but you're not going to find a better ladder than this one. Not only is it incredibly stable when extended, it takes the place of seven ladders and two trestles, and you won't even break a sweat converting it. Two outer ladders telescope over the inner unit, and a locking center hinge on the inner ladder makes the A-frame possible without spreader bars or braces. The locking assembly was smooth and positive in our trials; the inner ladder slid freely and easily. Transforming the ladder from one configuration to another was no struggle at all. The inner and outer side rails are made of aircraft-grade aluminum; slip-resistant rungs and feet made us feel like we hadn't left the ground. Yes, it costs a bit more than other ladders, but you get what you pay for. This ladder will last a lifetime, and it's the only one you'll ever need. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste

The Best Agility Ladder Drills For Shedding Unwanted Pounds And for Athleticism
We've seen athletes working out with the agility ladder in training camps. They're even used in schools to teach children agility and speed. You basically lay the 30 foot ladder down on the ground and run quickly through the spaces between the rungs. Most brands can also be split in half to form two 15 foot sections. This is like the old tire exercises we see in armed forces training videos. The ladder has been proven to be safer as the rungs are only a couple inches off the ground as opposed to the height of the tire treads. The Cintz ladder on the market right now also lets you rearrange the rungs to space the footholds farther apart or closer together. The term SAQ refers to the 3 reasons for using the agility ladders, speed, agility, and quickness. These are the core exercises that any athlete needs, or anyone trying to lose weight. The main point is to train the body to infuse speed and lightning reflexes with a rotation and multi-directional training system.Coaches come up with some crazy drills for their athletes to perform on these ladders, with the ultimate goal to be a great stretch and an even greater amount of sweat. To gain the SAQ necessary from the ladder exercises, there are 3 main styles that these routines fall under.Steady exercises are basically quick paced runs across the full length of your ladder. You will get your heart pumping while increasing your speed, and getting a great cardio workout.Burst exercises are just that, quick bursts of energy expenditure then returning to your steady routine.By slipping a burst exercise in there, you train your body not to become complacent about the workout and be ready for whatever comes your way.High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts are popular in this style.Elastic response exercises teach your body to move beyond what you thought was possible, and snap back effortlessly.Right now we're going to focus most on the warm-up exercises that can be done by just about anyone. So if you're trying to lose weight, don't be afraid of the ladder. One easy way to get yourself sweating is by holding a medicine ball above your head as you run the course. You can also toss the ball from hand to hand as you run, trying to have the ball in the hand opposite of the foot that's touching down. The rhythm of the movements will seem difficult at first, but your body will adapt. This is also a great way to work the entire body as the arms and core are engaged to hold the ball and maneuver it.Incorporating a jump rope into your ladder exercise will also utilize the entire body.Jump ropes are pretty much second nature to us, but adding the agility ladder will train our feet to fall exactly where they need to be, thus bringing the rest of our body with them.Anyone who plays a sport where you need to accurately land yourself right in front of the ball will understand how valuable this lesson is.The ladder is a great addition to the years of training you need in order to reach that level of whole body coordination. So not only do you sweat your butt off working with the ladder and rope, but you get lightning quick reflexes and agility.Last but not least are two exercises designed for the leg and thigh area that women are constantly battling.Adding the medicine ball will also work another of women's favorite spots, the core.In the leg chop drills, you bring the ball up and down in tune with your steps.Bring your knees up high with each step and tap the medicine ball on them.Once you get the hang of the basic style, try rotating or bending at the waist for more flexibility and core work. Our last exercise, lunges, can be done with or without the ball. Here you just perform the lunge back and forth across the agility ladder a set number of times. You're really going to stretch out that thigh and tighten those buns.

Choosing the Best Ladder System For Your Needs
Ladder systems keep household and industrial workers at their maximum productivity and utmost safety.A ladder system is not just your traditional make-shift wooden ladders. These climbing systems are made of heavy duty materials put into several durability and safety tests. As the years passed, several companies adopted new technologies to create multi-position ladders to enhance the flexibility, efficiency and safety of workers.Ladder systems offer different safety and productivity features.Selection of the materials down to the engineering and manufacturing of the components of a ladder system is carefully performed. This is done to avoid any malfunctions while a worker is mounted on a ladder. It has been recorded that around 65,000 people have received emergency treatments annually due to several ladder accidents.A careless investment on ladder systems can result to serious injuries or worst death of a worker. As the worker ascends or descends on a ladder, it is very important that the ladder is stable and flexible enough to support the worker's movement.Let the following information guide you in selecting the best system that will best fit any household or industrial job. What are the different ladder system types? If you are looking for a ladder for home use, check those that are labeled light-duty Type III ladders. This ladder system is usually 3-6 feet long and can carry a maximum workload of 200 lbs.Medium-Duty Type II ladders can hold up to 225 lbs of workload. These are ladders that can be a minimum of 3 feet and a maximum of 12 feet long.A ladder system labeled as heavy duty Type I are used for heavy duty industrial environment. This system can be from 3 to 20 feet long and can support up to 250 to 300 lbs.A workload capacity includes the user's weight as well as any additional materials or equipment carried by the user. What are the basic requirements for an approved ladder system? The step spacing of a ladder system should be uniform and positioned in a parallel manner. To ensure the worker's safety, the step spacing should be at a maximum of 12 inches. The rails found on the side of a ladder should be kept at a minimum of 11 inches. The width of the side rails should be no less than 1 inch.Basic considerations that a buyer need to keep in mind..When purchasing ladders made of metals, check for possible dentures, sharp edges or any product defects that can cause injury. The work that you are going to do is the main consideration in choosing the material of the ladder you will be using. If you will perform jobs requiring you to fix some electrical equipment, aluminum may not be the best ladder to use. This is because aluminum is considered as an electricity conductor.Choose a ladder system that has slip-resistant steps to ensure footing stability.Test the stability of the ladder by stepping or jumping on its first step.If it moves, then it is an indicator to move to the next ladder. Most ladders sold in the market claims that they are the most safe, secure and durable. Some companies may prove this true.At the end of the day, choosing the best ladder system is your call to make!

How to Roof a House - Choosing Your Ladder
If you're looking for "how to roof a house" information, you've come to the right place. One of your first decisions just might regard a ladder for the job.Choose one like your life depends on it.Because it does!Over 170,000 people are injured every year in the USA from ladder accidents. To avoid joining their ranks, choose one well suited to the task at hand and use it properly. There are four basic factors in your decision. How to Roof a House. Ladder Factor #1 - Style.Although there are several different styles of ladders, the two most common are the step ladder and the extension ladder.I've seen homeowners use a step ladder to get on their roof, but that's basically an accident waiting to happen. The ladder you want for roofing is an extension ladder. How to Roof a House. Ladder Factor #2 - Height.Your ladder needs to be long enough to not only reach the eave, but extend at least three feet above it when set at the proper angle. That gives you something to hang on to as you climb on and off the ladder.A good length for many homes is a 28-footer.That's long enough to reach two stories, yet gives you all double rungs for good footing on one-story work. How to Roof a House. Ladder Factor #3 - Weight.Ladders fall into five different duty ratings, based on the amount of weight they are designed to carry.Keep in mind that includes your weight plus any tools or materials you might carry while on the ladder.Light Duty Type III - 200 Pounds Max Load.Medium Duty Type II - 225 Pounds Max Load.Heavy Duty Type I - 250 Pounds Max Load.Extra Heavy Duty Type IA - 300 Pounds Max Load.Special Duty Type IAA - 375 Pounds Max Load. How to Roof a House. Ladder Factor #4 - Material. At one time most all ladders were wood. You can still get wood, but aluminum or fiberglass are much more common choices today.Aluminum is lighter, but fiberglass is a better choice when it comes to roofing. The heavier weight of fiberglass gives a more secure feeling, especially when the ladder is extended. It's also much safer around overhead electric lines.

Why a Certificate of Deposit (CD) Ladder Can Help You Find The Best CD Rates
Interest rates on savings accounts, money market funds, and certificates of deposits have been at their lowest levels in years. The problem is that no one knows exactly when interest rates will rise.It could be tomorrow or it could be years from now. But, what should an enterprising investor with money to invest do with the cash that they have sitting on the sidelines not earning interest? One way to guarantee the best CD rates is to create a CD ladder.Do Not Lock In Your Money Long Term.Let's say a one year Certificate of Deposit (CD) earns a 1.34% annual interest rate. But for the pleasure of locking your money up for 5 years, you could earn 1.23% more than a 1-year (2.57% annually over five years). The National Average for a five year Certificate of Deposit (as of the date this article was published) is only 1.47% annually. That is not a lot of extra interest for the privilege of locking your money away for four extra years. If interest rates rise sooner rather than later, you would not want to be locked into a long term agreement with a bank earning low interest rates when rates are rising. One of the greatest ways to earn the best CD rates is through a CD ladder which does not tie up all your money when rates start to rise. What Is A CD Ladder?A CD ladder is a great way to hedge your bets against rising interest rates.A CD ladder is a version of dollar cost averaging but with Certificates of Deposit. You build a CD ladder by investing your money in CDs with staggered maturation dates.Initially, you should spread your investment evenly out across several CDs of varying maturity, for example a one year, two year, three year, four year, and five year Certificates of Deposit. As each one year CD matures, you would immediately reinvest your money into the largest term in your "ladder" - in this example a five year CD.This will help ensure that you will continue to earn the best CD rates as those rates increase for the longer maturity date CDs.This keeps one year separating all of your Certificates of Deposit like the rungs of a ladder, hence the name CD ladder.Find the Best CD Rates Online Thanks To Competition. Thanks to the internet, investors have an incredibly huge selection of banks to choose from. Many do not have a brick and mortar branch to visit, but that doesn't matter if you are after the best CD rates.Because banks are competing for your business, the investor should shop around for the very best interest rates.Because of this competition, investors see interest rates creeping up and can except this trend to continue. It pays to shop around for the best CD rates.Earning the best CD rates through an online bank could not be easier. Most banks are now offering Certificates of Deposit that you can invest in solely online with terms that range from three months to ten years.Investors can let their accumulated interest remain in their CD or even be transferred to another checking or online savings account. For the investor who is looking for a little more interest on his or her money, CDs offer guaranteed returns at competitive rates thanks to online banking.

This review is from: JumpSport SureStep 3-Step Trampoline Ladder (Sports) I purchased this product for a Skywalker 15 foot circular trampoline. The ladder came well packed and in a speedy manner (thank you Amazon). Unpackaging was very easy. The quality of the parts are evident. Assembly is straightforward and all you need is a philips head screwdriver and perhaps a rubber mallot.Assembly is required of course. I recommend you read the short parts/assembly guide and seperate the parts first. Pay attention to the six larger bolts and two smaller ones. They are not interchangeable. I also recommend a rubber mallot in addition to the required philips screwdriver. I had to use the mallot to gently bang the steps into place and line the bolt holes up. When you place the steps on the tubes for assembly, make sure they are facing the proper way (thinner side out). Another note is that when you place the nuts into the designated slots, you will need to push them down so the retainers will keep them in place. Be sure you do not use the wrong... Read more |

Ladder Racks Are Great For Truck Organization and Ease of Use
Anyone that uses their truck for work knows that one of the biggest problems is the large amount of equipment, tools and general stuff that tends to build up in the back.Besides just being messy, equipment gets damaged if it is left loose in the back of your vehicle, especially equipment such as ladders that are longer and lightweight.Installing one of the many different types of ladder racks will not only keep things organized but it will also extend the life of your tools. When equipment is secured and not moving about there is much less chance of damage to either the truck bed or the tools themselves. Both of which can be extremely expensive if you have to replace or repair.Choosing which type is best suited to your needs depends a lot on what you will be hauling and keeping secure. There are ones that extend over the length of the bed, leaving the area over the cab clear. These are perfect for smaller ladders or materials that won't extend too far forward of the frame. Most of these over the bed racks are made of steel tubing and are rated for specific weights, typically around 1000 pounds. They can be mounted directly to the rails of the truck or can be mounted to plates that sit inside the truck itself. These types are typically offered at several different adjustments and positions that can be used to secure the items into very specific places, allowing room for hauling other items too.Over the cab ones extend the length of the rack to include at least one cross piece or the frame itself extending all the way or part of the way over the cab.For quad cabs and extended cabs this can add several feet of additional length without adding any additional stress on the frame of the vehicle. As with the over the bed racks, there are additional cross pieces, positions and even adjustments to the height of the frame to make it fit within any vehicle from trucks to vans.It can be used even if the vehicle currently has a canopy or trailer.Adapter plates can be purchased, thereby allowing installation even with a camper shell.Full mount ones can also double as ladder racks and provide a more efficient way to transport a variety of materials other than the obvious.Like both the over the cab and over the bed ones, these are very durable, made of heavy gauge steel tubing and come in a variety of colors and styles. Most have an additional lip or ledge at least down the sides to provide security and prevent loads from slipping and moving.Positioners, additional cross pieces and a variety of hooks and accessories can be purchased to keep it organized and tools and supplies secured safely.Cab window protector guards are great as well. This is a mesh or barred type piece of metal that extends between both sides of the rack against the front of the bed and the rear window.Having this extra protection means that ladders or other long equipment won't accidentally knock or be pushed against the window causing breakage or damage to the glass. With all the accessories, types and inventions regarding truck racks, it's safe to assume that assembling one on your truck or van will not cause you problems.Just take a minute when driving to survey your surroundings and see how many people utilize them in their everyday life. You'll be surprised just how easy they are to use, and how organized you can be if utilized correctly.

The Best Attic Ladder - Choose Correctly
Not too long ago, the attic ladder and stairway industry worked without any set of minimum standards set up.However in the late 1990s, this industry eventually made a decision to become much more organized and safety-conscious simply by applying a number of building regulations.Even still, there's a number of different attic and hidden stairway systems available for you to pick from.In fact there's two basic types of ladder systems used for accessing the attic; the pull-down type of ladder and the folding ladder.Pull down attic stairs are usually stairs that are designed to provide entry to an attic, loft, or crawlspace without taking up space when they're not in use. This kind of attic ladder system is traditionally more durable and much more stable than the folding ladder system, however, a pull-down ladder is actually substantially much harder to install.Folding attic ladders are basically that; attic ladders which fold up to fit inside the ceiling hatch. This kind of ladder set up is much better suited for smaller sized attics or attics in which there isn't plenty of room for gaining entry. There are different types of folding attic ladders that you can choose from; True folding attic stairs - this kind of staircase fold into thirds and are mounted on the attic hatch.Disappearing stairs - this type of stairs do not fold at all, but slide into the attic along mounted rails.Accordion stairs - staircases that unfold on hinges located on either side of each rung.Telescopic attic ladders - this type of staircase pull out one rung segment at a time.Folding ladders can be purchased in both wood as well as aluminum.Wooden ladders are simpler to fold, but aluminum ladders are lighter in weight and resistant against rot and splinters. So basically it's on your own choice which would be the best type of attic ladder that suites your needs. When shopping for an attic ladder, there should be many considerations taken. Many people focus on the appearance alone because they want their home to flow well together, but it is important that other things are considered as well.Since folding attic stairs are not used on an everyday basis, it does not matter as much about what they look like when folded down since they will typically be in their upright position.A person must concentrate on the quality of the piece and also whether or not it's going to suffice in the amount of wear it shall receive. The first thing that must be taken into consideration whenever deciding how well the ladder is built is simply by finding out how much weight it can hold at a time.Along with the weight capacity, it is important to look at the lifeline of a ladder as well.Since the attic ladder will be folded and unfolded repetitively, it will need to withstand all this wear. While the support and weight capacity the ladder can hold is important, a homeowner must also pick one depending on its price.Different types of ladders come with different prices.Creating a price range before heading to the shop will allow you to make a choice depending on what you are able to afford and prevent from over spending. After finding various ladders that suit your needs, you can then make your final choice depending on the appearance, the purpose and price tag alone; and provided with the vast number of ladders available on the market nowadays, you're certain to find an attic ladder that suits both your tastes and budget.

It is always the first ladder I go for because it can do almost anything. I've used it for trimming and picking fruit trees, working on a wall above a roof, general construction, painting and handywork. It has even had a 450+ lb. guy on it without creaking! The ladder is much more stable than a conventional step ladder, due to its splayed lower legs. It is also more stable against a wall in the extention mode for the same reason. Each side is independently extendable so it is great on sloping surfaces. It can be climbed from either side in the step ladder mode. The best thing about it is that when it is fully collapsed, it stores in about the same space as a five foot step ladder. It will also stand by itself, so you don't need to lean it or hang it on a hook. It easily lays in a pickup bed or accross the back seat of a full size car. Wing also makes a "work platform" for this ladder that adds to its... Sure, it's flexible for uneven heights (across sunken living room, stairs, uneven ground outside, etc.), but what I like most is that it is rock solid!!! The additional "work platform" is very nice to stand on for long periods of time or to set tools on (i.e., consider two if you're on your ladder much). When not fully extended, the overlapping steps create a broad step under foot. It is only a little bit more expensive than a ladder with an equivalent rating (250 lb, versus 150 for many ladders), and only a little heavier. Folded, however, it is easy to carry vertically simply by sticking your shoulder between two rungs and grabbing the second rung below with your hand. 47 of 49 people found the following review helpful By Youni (Clarksburg, MD United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Little Giant 10103LGW 300-Pound Duty Rating Ladder System with Work Platform, 22-Foot (Tools & Home Improvement) We first saw this ladder at a home show demonstration and thought it was awesome. [...]The ladder system is intuitive to use right of the box. Its aluminum channel construction is a bit heavier than cheap ladders in the usual home stores,,, but it is very stable; the spread legs make it quite resistent to sliding over; and it flexes very little even when fully extended. As an A-frame it is rock solid and does not shake at all. The ladder comes with a metal anti-slip platform that can be positioned on any step and used as a large ledge for prolong standing or to hold tools. The ladder latches and joints are steel parts and very solidly lock in. I like everything about this ladder! To the best of my knowledge there is no comparable ladder generally available. |
