Little Giant's patent ran out on how the sections lock together. Amazon price on this ladder today is $165. That is much lower than the other major brand selling aroung $250. The Little Giant (300 pound rated!) sells for $379.99 at Amazon. Little Giant also sells a 250 pound rated for $250 but that is not as strong. Once you add your weight plus tools you need the 300 pound rated ladder. This 22' (extended length) is the only ladder needed. Very handy and for $165 you can't go wrong. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful Only Ladder I Need., By Nic Park "Park" (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Louisville Ladder L-2094-17 Type IA 300-Pound Rated Aluminum Multipurpose Ladder, 17-Foot (Tools & Home Improvement) I recently painted my living room. We have 10' ceilings and I setup this ladder as a scaffold placed a 1"x12" board on top and walked along as I "Cut-in" the top edge. This was much faster than moving the step ladders every 3 feet. I am 6'6" tall and 240lbs and the ladder was very solid.I then extended the ladder to "Cut-in" the ceiling over the stairway. This is the "Only Ladder I Need". 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful Works like.. well.. A Ladder., By cinny8414 (Medford Oregon) - See all my reviews This review is from: Louisville Ladder L-2094-17 Type IA 300-Pound Rated Aluminum Multipurpose Ladder, 17-Foot (Tools & Home Improvement) I have used this ladder several times in the last couple weeks since receiving it. We have high ceilings in our new house, and I have used it both as a extension ladder and step ladder. As a step ladder, I have used a lot of different kinds, and I don't recall ever using a better step ladder. Although it takes a minute or two to set up, it is very solid, even when fully extended. I am 6'4, 290 lbs, and holds me fine, with ceiling fan in hand. (last weekends project)When using it as an extension ladder, I had to use it fully extended to access the roof. It was stable, and felt safe, but it took some getting used to with the joint in the center of the ladder. Using extension ladders many times (ex-firefighter), I have been spoiled by using heavy solid ladders, and maybe my expectations are very high. When folded up and compressed, this ladder is easy to store. I am very glad that I bought the 17' instead of a smaller ladder. You can always open the ladder to only what is... Read more |
