Our NEW Roll Guard A-Frame Safety Ladder features a unique locking Roll Guard safety barrier, that helps prevent access to the pool when not in use. When locked, the Roll Guard safety barrier completely covers the outside ladder treads, prohibiting access to the ladder. When unlocked, the Roll Guard safety barrier easily rolls onto the inside of the ladder, preventing access behind the ladder.
Designed for above ground pools up to 56 tall, the Roll Guard features 5 x 18 treads, inner side barriers and includes a lock. This safety ladder is extremely durable and its curved side rails provide additional strength for further enhanced safety.

Assembling this ladder is not for the faint hearted or the unhandy. There are 22 parts. Many assembly steps require 6 hands and good balance. All assembly steps require a heavy rubber hammer and a sharp knife. The parts all had sharp bits of plastic left from the manufacturing process that had to be removed. Pay close attention to the parts that will contact your pool liner. My son and I received several cuts on our hands from the plastic parts. Most of the mating areas still had a thin layer of plastic covering then that had to be cut or drilled out before the parts would fit together.To top it off, our ladder arrived without instructions or hardware. We had to look-up the instructions online. We contacted Confer imediately about the missing parts and still haven't gotten them. The ladder feels very tippy when you climb it. If you have a 48 inch pool, you should know that this ladder is VERY high. The... The only impediment to this is the extra plastic in the kiey holes for the steps, it has to be cut out before assembling the steps - it is quite thick. That was the only thing that slowed doen construction. A sharpe thin knife and a screedriver is all you need for assembly. Also the ladder needs to be on a firm surface - like all the others. The ladder from my old pool didn't fit.It was fairly easy to put together. Took me about an hour from the time I opened the box until I was putting it in place on the pool. The only minor annoyance was having to cut out the plastic tabs in order to snap the steps in. A fresh blade in my utility knife helped to get the job done. Once that was finished I put a light coat of dishwashing liquid around each step tab and they snapped in place pretty easily with a rubber mallet. The instructions are straightforward and easy to follow with good illustration, and the parts are clearly marked. I used the dishwashing liquid instead of another lubricant because I didn't want a lubricant in my pool once the ladder was put in place.
